Registration Information

  • A "regular attendee" is a faculty member in higher education.

  • Registration fees not paid by posted deadlines will increase by $50.

  • No printed program will be provided.  The program will be available via a conference app, Whova.

Registration includes:

  • Admission to all conference events
  • Access (via conference app) during and after the conference to speakers’ handouts, to assist participants in implementing new techniques and teaching ideas in their own courses
  • Meals and breaks: See the conference schedule for included meals and breaks.  A reception for participants, their companions and families is held on the evening of January 3rd.

APS members

The Association for Psychological Science provides generous financial support of the Institute, which benefits all participants, and also encourages its members to attend and participate in the conference.  APS regular members and student affiliates may register at a $30 discount. 


Retirees, Students, High School Faculty

  • High school faculty and retired faculty may register for a discounted rate.
  • Graduate and undergraduate students may register for a discounted rate if they are employed half time or less and proof of a current student ID and Fall 2024 class schedule are submitted by email at the time of registration.

    Guests

    • Companions whose professional affiliation is unrelated to psychology may register as guests if they wish to attend meals, breaks, and poster sessions.
    • Companions of invited speakers whose professional affiliation is unrelated to psychology, who will not attend meals, breaks, or poster sessions, may obtain a one-session-only badge without charge to attend the speaker's session. Visi the NITOP registration desk to obtain a pass.
    • Other guests must register for the conference as a regular attendee.

        NITOP Cancellation Policy

        • A $50 fee will be charged for cancellation requests received before December 1st.
        • No refund will be given for cancellation requests received after December 1st unless the entire conference is cancelled.

        • To cancel, contact the NITOP Coordinator at coordinator@nitop.org.

        Transfers:  If a registrant learns after December 1st that attendance is not possible, the registration may be transferred to another person for a $50 transfer fee. If a transfer is needed, contact the NITOP Coordinator at coordinator@nitop.org.


        Early Career Scholarships

        • Participants who have been gainfully employed in teaching positions for fewer than three years (excluding any years of teaching during graduate school) may apply for a $50 reduction in the registration fee.
        • To apply for a NITOP Early Career Scholarship, submit a one-page essay about what you see as the challenges and/or opportunities facing new teachers of psychology, along with a letter from your academic unit’s executive officer confirming that your teaching experience at all institutions totals less than three years.
        • Email these materials to coordinator@nitop.org. Applicants will be notified promptly of the outcome of the review. These scholarships will be available until registration reaches capacity.  Please apply early.
